Some of the country’s finest horses and riders will head to Moreton Show this September, as the team prepares to host more than 30 prestigious Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualifying classes.
Returning on Saturday 5th September 2026, Moreton Show’s Horse Area will once again become one of the biggest attractions on the showground, drawing competitors and spectators from across the UK for a full programme of top-class equestrian competition.
Whether you’re hoping to qualify for HOYS, supporting family and friends or simply enjoy watching outstanding equestrian sport, there’s plenty to look forward to throughout the day.
More than 30 HOYS qualifying classes
Visitors can look forward to an action-packed schedule featuring some of the sport’s most respected competitions.
This year’s programme includes more than 30 Horse of the Year Show qualifying classes, giving competitors the opportunity to secure a coveted place at one of Britain’s most prestigious equestrian events.
Alongside the HOYS qualifiers, visitors can enjoy the thrilling Arena Eventing Challenge, the fast-paced Hayman-Joyce Pairs Relay, Retrained Racehorse classes, traditional ridden and in-hand showing competitions, and a variety of popular novelty classes, including Mounted Fancy Dress.
A packed programme of equestrian competition
The Horse Area has been at the heart of Moreton Show for generations and continues to offer something for competitors, spectators and horse lovers alike.
From championship qualifiers and showing classes to exciting arena competitions, visitors can enjoy a full day of equestrian entertainment from morning until late afternoon.

Horses have played a central role at Moreton Show since the event began in 1949, and the Horse Area remains one of its biggest attractions.
