Galloping at events including The London International Horse Show, the team at Moreton Show 2023 are excited to announce the return of the Shetland Pony Grand National to the main arena.
For the third year in a row, Moreton Show invite attendees to cheer on the talented young riders in the Shetland Pony Grand National. The exiguous equestrians will race the course on their steeds and encourage everyone to enjoy the fun-packed programme at Moreton Show 2023.
The Shetland Pony Grand National team say: ‘All you need is your own registered Shetland Pony or loan of a Shetland Pony and you too could be racing around Windsor Castle, Badminton, Burghley, Gatcombe and of course The London International Horse Show and many more high-profile events.’
The small-scale Grand National will not only raise a smile but also vital funds for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust, a charity established in 1983 by Grand National winning jump jockey Bob Champion.
In addition to the mini jockeys, there are major new attractions like a thrilling BMX show and a highly-anticipated sheep-shearing competition plus the renowned eclectic mix of entertainment to look forward to.

Esther Watts, Attractions Secretary, said: ‘The Shetland Pony Grand National was a fantastic sight in the Grand Arena and will return on Saturday 2nd September. The Grand Arena will certainly be the place to be for watching the colourful jockeys and their furry leg friends gallop over the finish line. You will also feel the huge presence of the magnificent heavy horses as they parade around the Grand Arena, it will be a spectacular sight.’
Moreton Show would also like to say a huge thank you to Barn & Brook for Sponsoring the Shetland Pony Grand National this year.
