Sally Wins with a Window on History
A shop with a history going back almost two hundred years has won the annual Moreton Show window display competition.
The top prize for depicting Farmtastic, one of the major attractions at this weekend’s show, went to Sally Morris, owner of The Corn Exchange in Moreton-in-Marsh’s High Street. Her family have owned the building since the early 1900s and her ancestors were grocers, with shops all over the north Cotswolds from as early as 1807. It was fitting, too, that Sally was presented with the Horne Trophy, which was originally sponsored by her father.
She said: ‘My family has always loved Moreton Show and I remember entering the decorated vegetable class when I was ten years-old.’
