BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s breakfast show presenter, Mark Cummings will be the star judge at this year’s Moreton Show Dog Show on Saturday, September 3rd.
Moreton Show’s Dog Show is always one of the most popular attractions and for 2016 the canine ring includes dog obedience displays by the Good Dog Ownership School, a scent demo by Paw Behaviour, a gun dog display by Crendon Canines and a ‘Have A Go Rally’ where owners and dogs can put their pooches through their paces, testing how well they behave.
The Companion Dog Show, sponsored by Pet Necessities from Moreton in Marsh, includes lots of fun classes, from Waggiest Tail to Most Appealing Eyes. There are prizes for children who show the most skill handling their dogs and even a prize for the dog the judge would most like to take home.
Radio presenter Mark Cummings is a well known dog lover and often talks about his dog, Tyler on his daily show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire. He said: 'I'm delighted to be judging the Dog Show because I've heard so many good things about Moreton Show. I know from my Breakfast Show listeners that we're a county of dog lovers in Gloucestershire and my dog Tyler is also looking forward to the big day.'
The team from Pet Necessities will be on hand with lots of advice on grooming and nutrition for dogs and owner, Di Dewberry, who organises Moreton Show’s Dog Ring, said: ‘We are a nation of dog lovers and the Dog Show at Moreton Show just gets more and more popular every year. We’re thrilled to be able to promote good dog ownership and the show is always a great way for owners to show off their much loved pets.’
Dog Show entries will be taken in the Dog Ring from 10.30am and the classes start at 2pm. The classes are held under Kennel Club rules and dogs must be at least six months old to enter. There will be displays throughout the morning from 10.30am and the ‘Have A Go Rally’ kicks off at 12 noon. The ever-popular Terrier Racing will also be staged in the Rural Attractions Arena
