Father and Son Triumph at Moreton Show Awards Night - 22.02.2018
Broadway father and son, Ken and Jason Brain made sure that success stayed in the family at the Farms and Crops annual prize giving, organised by the Moreton in Marsh and District Agricultural and Horse Show Society and sponsored by Knight Frank. Among the trophies presented to Ken, 70 and Jason, 25, from Peters Farm at Broadway, was the Farmers’ Ball Challenge Bowl for Champion Farm.  It’s a title they also won at the Gloucester Root, Fruit and Grain Society and it’s the second time in three years that the 1000-acre Peters Farm has achieved the double. There were beaming smiles and full glasses of the very best gin and tonic as Moreton Show welcomed new members at an exclusive evening hosted in fine style by The Cotswolds Distillery. The sun shone too as Moreton Show chairman, Steve Parkes welcomed members who had joined at this summer’s show. The award winning actor, Anthony Andrews gave his own five star review to Moreton Show after playing a leading role as one of the judges in a new equestrian competition. A pitchfork, hay, hens and country goodies helped David Glaisyer win the Moreton Show best shop window display competition. His shop, Astley House Fine Art in Moreton in Marsh High Street finished top of the Non-Food Retail section and was then named Overall Winner by this year’s judge, the Moreton West Cotswold District Councillor, Alison Coggins. She said David’s design ‘captured the quintessential essence of Moreton Show’. Forget Strictly, the most dynamic dancing this summer will be at Moreton Show on Saturday, September 2, when the JCB Dancing Diggers will be in the spotlight. Wristbands the Key to Looking After Children at the Moreton Show     - 02.08.2017
Lost children at Moreton Show are a thing of the past, thanks to the wristband scheme sponsored and run by the Moreton in Marsh-based Dormer House School. Moreton Show is one of the biggest one-day agricultural shows in the country, with some 25,000 visitors coming onto the showground on the Batsford Estate. The countdown begins for this summer’s Moreton Show when tickets – including the new e-tickets - go on sale on July 1 and buying early will mean big savings. The deadline is fast approaching for entries for the big cattle competition of the summer - the new ‘Triple Crown’ competition of cattle showing which takes place at three Midlands agricultural shows. Hanbury Countryside Show in Worcestershire (Saturday, July 1st), Burwarton Show in Shropshire (Thursday, August 3rd) and Moreton Show (Saturday, September 2nd) will award the Three Shires Cattle Trophy to the exhibitor who gains the most points across all three shows. Bluebell Run Blazes a Trail with Record Breaking Line Up - 08.05.2017
  A record turn-out saw 64 tractors of all shapes, sizes, colours and ages complete their 41-mile journey through the north Cotswolds on the annual Bluebell Run in aid of Cancer Research UK on Sunday (May 7). Organised by the North Cotswold Tractor Club and Moreton Show, the Bluebell Run set off in glorious sunshine from Downs Farm on the Batsford Estate. Bluebell Run Beckons for Farming’s Finest - 25.04.2017
The finest farming tractors will turn out on Sunday, May 7 for the Bluebell Run, the annual trip through the north Cotswolds. Organised by Moreton Show in conjunction with the North Cotswold Tractor Club, this year’s tractor run will cover a 42-mile route from Moreton in Marsh to Hazleton and back, on a circular route taking in lovely country lanes, fords, farms and estates and will keep to the west side of the Fosse Way.
